Fahrt nach London
Hey guys!
50 students from our year 7 classes, along with their teachers, have just returned from an incredible trip to England! We spent five days filled with excitement, adventure, sightseeing and shopping!
After a long bus ride, we finally arrived in Norbury to meet our host families. Everyone was eager to see where and how British people live and to be part of that for a few days!

The next day, we started the day by visiting the Tower of London, where we had a look at the Crown Jewels and got to know the real Beefeaters and the Tower’s famous ravens. After that we went on a sightseeing tour by foot and saw London’s most famous spots: Big Ben, the Millenium Wheel, Westminster, the Royal Horse Guards, Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and lots more. And of course, we couldn’t resist doing some shopping on our very first day in Chinatown! Woohoo!
On Wednesday we started the tour at Buckingham Palace, where we experienced the famous Changing of the Guards and ended at Madame Tussauds where we met famous stars and celebrities …just made of wax, of course! Shopping at London’s famous Oxford Street was also one of the highlights of the day!
The following day took us to Wilmor Castle, where we explored a beautiful English garden and where we saw some of Queen Mum’s original Royal furniture. After that, we enjoyed a lovely hike along the sea back to the bus, which took us to the charming town of Canterbury, before returning to Norbury.
Friday brought us back to London for more exploration. And we did a lot of walking—phew!! We visited the Globe Theatre, where we were also able to watch some actors and actresses on stage. Then, it was time to indulge in Borough Market’s famous chocolate-covered strawberries or enjoy delicious portions of fish and chips - pricey, but absolutely worth it! After lunch, we went on a boat ride to Greenwich and saw Cutty Sark, The Royal Observatory and Greenwich Park, where we stood on the Greenwich Meridian - everything just like in our English book!
After all of that, we hopped back on the bus and headed home to Germany.
It was an unforgettable trip, full of new experiences, exciting adventures and a beautiful blue sky without a single cloud almost every day!
