A five-day trip to London

London: We all know London from our English books - Olivia, Holly, Gwen, Jay, Luke and Dave taught us a lot about the language which is spoken in this fantastic city. And they showed us every sight you can discover there. But what happens if you are able to explore it yourself? Imagine: Suddenly you see Big Ben, not as a picture but in real life and Buckingham Palace is in front of you with the famous Guards. Or you can go shopping at Camden Town or on Oxford Street and see the crown jewels in the Tower of London or you walk on the Tower Bridge. Live! You are one of the tourists in London!

50 students of the year 7 from the Adorno-Gymnasium had a chance to make this experience!  After a 780-kilometer-journey on the coach and ferry, we finally arrived in Morden, a district south of London. We lived in host families and could discover London in an exciting way: with our friends but also with complete strangers, who we had to talk English to! We also visited Madame Tussauds. Most students believe there are only boring wax figures in Madame Tussauds. But believe us: There WAS more, for example a 5-D cinema or a chamber of horrors! Creepy! We explored London over the days and are happy to say: It was a fascinating trip to a great city!
